What We Carry

Being located just a few miles east of Indianola, Iowa, gives us central location to reach many surrounding communities including Des Moines, Norwalk, Martensdale, Ackworth, Milo, Pleasantville, Knoxville and other nearby towns.

Many of the plants listed on this page, we grow locally in our green house, which helps us to keep our cost down, and more money left in your pocket.

Trees | Shrubs | Perennials/Annuals | Bulk Materials

Green Acres carries high quality deciduous and evergreen trees, available in potted or balled and burlap (B&B). Container trees are grown in pot in pot fields that utilize a low pressure spray stake watering system. Growing this way keeps the root ball cool and moist, creating a healthier tree. Container sizes range from 5 to 45 gallon. Balled and burlap from 1” to 4” in caliper. We even produce Autumn Blaze Maples from cuttings!

Bulk Materials

Mulch/Compost

We carry mulch in bags or bulk. Bring a truck, trailer or other means of transport to have us load you with some bulk compost or colored mulch. Choose from 4 different kinds of bulk mulch. Red, dark brown, gold, or natural. We also carry bulk soil. We are also a authorized dealer for the Metro Waste Authority, selling premium screened compost.
